Key changes:

- Access to the club is now restricted to emergency response and patrol ONLY

Brighton Lifesaving Club’s COVIDSafe Committee have been working very hard, implementing Life Saving Victoria's COVIDSafe requirements to ensure the clubhouse is equipped and compliant for our members to return to a safe environment for Season 20/21!


We believe it is important to highlight that resuming club activities will not occur immediately. Fluctuating changes in restriction levels means BLSC has to be flexible and adaptive in order to implement processes and provide a safe clubhouse for our members and the community.

If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, do not attend BLSC. Contact your doctor immediately. If you come to the clubhouse with symptoms, you will be asked to leave.



At all times, members must:

  • Obey basic hygiene principles, including sanitising your hands and washing your hands frequently (before touching any communal surface e.g. door handle, piece of equipment).
  • Obey physical distancing measures and room capacities in place
  • Wear a fitted mask
  • Self-isolate if you are experiencing any COVID-19 or flu-like symptoms and notify a COVIDSafe Coordinator if you have been at BLSC within 14 days prior to developing symptoms.


When attending your Patrol or scheduled training, you must scan BLSC’s QR Code on arrival. You will find this QR Code posted around the clubhouse. The information gathered is kept confidential and will only be released to the relevant agencies for contact tracing in the event of a COVID case occurring at BLSC.


You can access this by:

  1. Using your mobile phone’s camera, take a photo of the QR Code on the poster.
  2. A notification with a link will appear on your phone screen. Press the notification.
  3. Fill in your details and answer the questions.

If you don’t have access to a phone capable of reading the QR code, please ensure you email with: 

  1. Your full name & contact details
  2. Date & time of access


The change rooms are open during Patrol and organised club activities only. There is a maximum of 4 people allowed in the change rooms at any one time. If the change room is at capacity, please wait outside, maintain physical distancing and be considerate of other members when using the change rooms.


Kitchen facilities remain closed until further notice.


All Clubhouse facilities are regularly cleaned to LSV & Department of Health and Human Services cleaning standards.

Patrol will commence from Saturday 14th November under new restrictions and guidelines. We are currently operating under ‘Scenario B’. You can find a copy of the Patrol Roster here. Please complete the Pre-Season Patrol Checklist & watch the COVIDSafe Video prior to attending your first Patrol. Patrol Captains are updated with the ever changing restrictions levels, please refer any Patrol related questions to your Patrol Captain.


Skills Maintenance Sessions:

Skills Maintenance sessions are in place and are available on the LSV Member Training website. Please ensure you book in advance and complete the online learning prior to arrival.
